The Comstock House's Rooms
The Mountain Room (shown above) has views from the second floor that are spectacular. Sink into one of the comfortable chairs in the sitting area and see how many of the surrounding mountains you can name. The Mountain Room has a big inviting Queen size bed. And there's a sitting area in the room where you can unwind. The adjoining Orchard Room has even more space for you to relax if you choose to rent the entire suite. It can accommodate two in twin beds or can be set up with a single double bed. The spacious corner bathroom, accessible to both the main bedroom and the suite, comes complete with a clawfoot tub and a shower.
The Meadow Room is on the first floor, where you'll be treated to a wraparound view of the fields and farms, mountains and vistas that beckon beyond your window. The Meadow Room is furnished with a Queen size bed that'll guarantee a good night's sleep. Before bed or after you get up, relax in the sitting area and drink up the scenery. Your private bathroom has a full shower.
The Comstock Room (shown below) is our largest.
Situated on the second floor, it has windows on three sides with views
of mountains, pastures and woods. It has a large sitting area and a
writing desk. It has a generous sized bath with a deep clawfoot
tub. The Comstock room requires a two night minimum stay all year.
Rates
The rate for the Meadow Room is $115.00 the Mountain Room is $125 per night, and the Comstock Room is $135 per night, state tax additional. The Mountain Room suite is $165.00. The suite comprises the Mountain room, and the adjoining smaller Orchard Room with two twin beds. Multi-night discounts (after the 3rd night) are offered. "Discover Goddard" discount also offered. Breakfast Every morning starts with a homemade breakfast. We proudly serve our own naturally raised farm fresh eggs, bacon and sausage. The menu changes daily, and with notice prior to arrival, we are able to accommodate most dietary requests. We're always adding new favorites to the menu, such as apple clafouti, salsa soufflé or cherry corn scones. And we offer plenty of our own homemade delights, including granola, breads, and our 2008 Vermont Farm Show blue-ribbon-winning strawberry jam.
Reservations To check availability and make a reservation, please call (802) 272-2693. Reservations are held with a 50% deposit. We accept MC and Visa, personal checks, cash and traveler's checks. Full refund with at least 30 days advance notice, $35.00 charge for less than 30 days, and no refund for less than 10 days advance notice. Check-in time is 4 p.m. or after, earlier possible by arrangement, and check-out time is 11 a.m.
Directions Convenient to Interstate 89. Take Exit 8. Follow U.S. Route 2 east about 10 miles to Plainfield village. Bear right at the yellow blinking light and then take the first right. Head up Mill Street, which becomes Barre Hill Road, bearing left at Middle Road. The Comstock House is 1.6 miles up the hill on the right after bearing onto Middle Road.
